Institute of Tropical Forest Conservation

ITFC seeks a field researcher with an interest in trans-disciplinary conservation and development research to work with their projects in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the wider region. The successful candidate should hold a bachelors or masters level degree. The major part of the work
will emphasize the human perceptions of wildlife-human conflicts and what governs the adoption of specific measures to reduce animal raiding into fields around the national parks. Good communication skills, writing abilities, field experience, and a working knowledge of spoken Rukiga would all be advantageous.

Duration: Funding for this position will cover a maximum of two years -- though there may be opportunities to extend.

2. Senior research post

ITFC seeks a new member to our academic staff. We require a motivated Masters' (or doctoral) degree holder with experience and interest to work on our Themes of interest. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in social or economic aspects of conservation and/or development. Evidence of good writing skills and published work would be an advantage.
